Flexible work in Tel Aviv without fixed shifts: meet Tadam

On Tadam, work without fixed shifts means choosing each offer to fit your skills and time, with no minimum hours. Signup is open; offers begin at launch in Tel Aviv.

Your meeting moves, and suddenly you have an afternoon free. You could help someone get a presentation into shape or take a dog for a walk. Next week, though, that same afternoon is already full. When you're looking for flexible work, that changing calendar matters as much as what you're good at.

Tadam is built around choosing individual offers. Tadamers select their skills and, once Tadam launches, will receive relevant offers from people nearby. You choose whether to take each one. Signup is open now; offers will start at launch, with Tel Aviv first.

How do you find flexible work in Tel Aviv?

Start with the week you actually have. Look at the appointments you've made and the time between them. Include getting ready, travelling and getting back. An empty space on a calendar can look generous until you add everything around it.

If you're reading a listing on a job board, find out what "flexible" means there. You might be choosing regular days, arranging a schedule in advance or responding to occasional requests. Ask how often you're expected to be available and when you need to decide. Then compare those answers with your calendar.

You don't need to fill every opening. Choose a window you'd feel comfortable using, even on an ordinary week. If an evening is your chance to catch up with friends or simply stay home, it can remain that way.

What does work without fixed shifts mean on Tadam?

The Tadam model has no shifts or minimum hours. You decide whether an individual offer fits. That gives you a useful place to pause: before you agree, check the request against the time and skills you can offer that day.

Choosing an offer is still a commitment to the person asking for help. Be clear about what you can do and when you need to finish. "I can help until six" lets someone plan around your availability. A vague "I'll see how it goes" leaves a lot to sort out later.

If the request doesn't fit, you can skip it. You might have the right skill but too little time, or enough time but not the experience that particular request needs. Both are reasons to keep looking.

Which skills can you offer as a service?

Think about what people already ask you to help with. Perhaps you patiently explain phone settings, keep balcony plants alive or enjoy putting a cluttered cupboard in order. These are examples of the everyday skills shown on Tadam, alongside other kinds of help.

Describe your skill in terms someone else can use. "I can help you get comfortable with video calls" says more than "good with tech", provided that's something you know how to do. A narrow, honest description also makes it easier to recognise a request you can handle.

If you've been considering delivery work, ask whether driving or cycling is how you want to spend your available time. Tadam also includes skills that have nothing to do with deliveries. Start with something you feel comfortable doing on a normal day, rather than something that only sounds appealing when you're full of energy.

How do you choose work that fits your availability?

Before agreeing, make sure you understand the size of the request. Helping with a presentation might mean rearranging existing slides. It might mean building the whole presentation. Those are different uses of an afternoon, even if the first message sounds similar.

Ask what the person wants to finish and what they already have ready. Then consider the time you can offer. If you need an answer before you can make a sensible decision, get it before saying yes.

For a calendar built around lectures and exams, our guide to student work in Tel Aviv looks more closely at finding usable gaps during a university week.

How can you become a Tadamer?

The guide to becoming a Tadamer in Tel Aviv explains the starting point: join and choose what you're good at. It helps to begin with a skill you can describe plainly, so someone asking for help can understand where you'd fit.

You can sign up now ahead of launch. Offers haven't started yet, and Tel Aviv will be the first city. For now, think about the help you'd enjoy offering and the time you can comfortably set aside. Leave room for the weeks when that answer changes.

If it sounds like a fit for your week, you're welcome to join Tadam
