Student work in Tel Aviv: making room for Tadam around university

Work around university starts with a skill you know and time left after classes, preparation and travel. Tadam signup is open, with offers starting at its Tel Aviv launch.

Your morning lecture finishes early, and the next one isn't until the afternoon. It looks like a useful gap. Then you remember the reading you haven't done, lunch and the trip back to campus. If you're looking for student work in Tel Aviv, start with the time that's left after those things.

Tadam is designed around individual offers that you can take or skip. You choose the skills you'd like to offer, then decide what fits when an offer comes along. Signup is open now, ahead of launch. Offers haven't started yet, and Tel Aviv will be the first city.

What work can you fit around university?

Begin with something you already know how to do. You might be patient at explaining a subject, comfortable helping someone use a laptop or good at getting a presentation into shape. Dog walking is another example for someone with suitable experience and time to give it.

Your degree can suggest a skill, but describe the help itself. "Studying maths" tells someone about your course. "I can help a younger student understand equations" tells them what you can offer, if that's a level you're comfortable teaching.

Choose a manageable starting point. You don't need to offer every skill you have. Think about what you'd enjoy doing after a normal day of lectures, when your concentration might be different from how it feels on a free weekend.

How do you find time between classes?

Put independent study into your calendar as well as classes. Then look for a gap you can use without pushing the same reading to another evening. Some breaks are useful for helping someone; others are useful for eating lunch and arriving at the next lecture ready to listen.

If you're looking for student work near Tel Aviv University, judge each location against your route that day. "Near campus" doesn't tell you how long it takes to leave your building, get there and come back. Leave room on both sides of the time you're offering.

An afternoon after classes may be easier to plan around than a break in the middle. You could also start by considering a day when you'll already be in the area. The useful window is the one you can honour without having to rush through everything around it.

How can a student offer tutoring?

Write down the subject and level you know well enough to explain. If you can teach comfortably in English or another language, include that. Be specific about your ability rather than assuming your course title speaks for itself.

Before agreeing to help a student, ask what they're studying and where they're stuck. Reviewing a single topic is different from catching up on a whole term. Seeing the relevant material in advance can help you decide whether your knowledge and available time fit.

Allow for preparation, too. You may want to work through examples before the session. That preparation belongs in your calendar alongside the time with the student. Being at university doesn't mean you have to offer every subject someone asks about.

What flexible work fits around exams?

Start by protecting the time you need for revision and rest. If you have a window you'd like to use for helping someone, consider an offer that fits it. Tadam's model has no fixed shifts or minimum hours, so each offer is your choice.

Be clear about the difference between being free this week and being available regularly. If someone needs recurring help, discuss what you can commit to before agreeing. A coming exam is a reason to check the calendar again, even when you're familiar with the kind of help involved.

Our guide to flexible work without shifts explains more about choosing individual offers and checking the details before accepting one.

How can a student become a Tadamer?

The guide to becoming a Tadamer in Tel Aviv covers the starting point. Think about one skill you could offer and a realistic window in your week. Describe the skill in language someone asking for help would understand.

You can join ahead of launch now. There aren't current Tadam offers to browse near campus; offers will begin when the service launches. When that happens, you can consider each one against the university week you actually have, including the reading, meals and breaks that don't appear on your class timetable.
